Susan Thomas is an oil artist. She resides and works in her home studio on Little Torch Key. Susan taught oil painting for approximately ten years at her studio in Long Island. Susan no longer teaches painting, but devotes her work to paintings of and about the Florida Keys. Her painting efforts lean primarily toward realistic with emphasis on local water scenes and various wildlife as depicted in their natural habitat. Susan early studies were with portrait artist Rafael DeSoto in New York. She has attended seminars and workshops at the Art Students League in Manhattan.

Susan is currently a member of the Lower Keys Art Network, the Florida Keys Art Guild. Examples of her work are shown in the Artists in Paradise Gallery, located in the Winn Dixie shopping center Big Pine Key. Her work is also displayed in galleries in Key West and in Marathon, and on the “theartistsinparadise.com” web site.
